Job summary

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Peoria, IL is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our Back of House team. You’ll focus on speed, consistency, and pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen.

You’ll read tickets, set up your station, plate with care, and uphold food safety standards while supporting teammates during service.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours or more a day.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and lift items up to 35 pounds.
• Guest-oriented mindset and good teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items with speed, accuracy, and consistency.
• Set up, stock, and maintain your assigned station throughout service.
• Read and execute tickets accurately while meeting timing standards.
• Plate dishes with consistency and attention to presentation.
• Monitor food temperatures and follow all food safety standards.
• Properly label, store, and rotate all food items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Support teammates and communicate effectively during service.
• Complete closing and cleaning checklists as assigned.
