Job summary

PENN Entertainment in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Line Cook to join our fast-paced kitchen. You will read food orders, prepare items to standard recipes, and help ensure timely, high-quality plates for guests.

The role requires at least 1 year of line cook experience, a High School diploma or equivalent, English fluency, and knowledge of sanitation procedures. You’ll collaborate with the team and contribute to a safe, efficient dining operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience as a line cook.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or apprenticeship preferred.
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Reads food orders from computer printouts, and prepares food items, according to established menu plans.
• Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency of products to the guests.
• Washes, slices, peels, and/or cuts various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
• Ensures work procedures, quality standards, and menu specifications are executed according to established guidelines.
• Completes opening, closing, and other side duties as assigned by the supervisors.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.
