Job summary

Constellis is seeking a cook to prepare and cook meals and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen and dining area. You will read recipes, cook to specifications, portion ingredients, and ensure food safety standards are followed.

Responsibilities include operating kitchen equipment, training others, and maintaining timely service in a fast-paced environment. Requires SERV Safe certification and at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• SERV Safe Certification required.
• SERV Safe Manager preferred.
• Two years of previous food service experience required.
• Valid driver's license and a clear driving record for the last five years.
• Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities.
• Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process.
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow recipes.
• Cook food according to recipes.
• Measure and portion ingredients according to recipes.
• Demonstrate food preparation skills (peeling, cutting, slicing, dicing, mixing).
• Prepare food through blanching, braising, frying, baking, sauté, rethermalizing.
• Follow SERV Safe temperature and storage protocols.
• Use and train others on safe use of kitchen equipment (slicers, food processors, cooking equipment).
• Prepare buffet for service following hot/cold holding protocols.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils and wares per SERV Safe protocols.
• Follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
