Job summary

The Oxford Tap in Oxford, Michigan (operating under Workstream) is seeking a line cook to join the kitchen team. You will be responsible for setting up stations, cooking portions, prepping ingredients, and maintaining a clean, organized line to ensure timely service during busy evening and weekend shifts.

Candidates should be able to multitask, communicate in English, and lift up to 55 lbs. Prior kitchen experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to multitask quickly and thoroughly.
• Excellent English communication.
• Minimum age 16.
• Flexible schedule availability.
• Ability to lift and carry 10–55 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up kitchen before opening.
• Set up a station with containers of necessary food items.
• Cook a specific portion of each plated meal as directed by the lead.
• Assist with prepping foods.
• Maintain pace with other cooks to ensure timely plating.
• Step in to help another line cook who is behind.
• Assemble dishes and garnish.
• Plate food attractively for customer enjoyment.
• Maintain sanitary conditions and organized kitchen.
• Wrap unused items and store properly at end of shift and shut off equipment.
• Clean and sanitize the area with soap and warm water.
• Participate in cleaning the rest of the kitchen before closing.
