Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Starkville in Mississippi seeks a Line Cook to prepare culinary delights for guests and hotel clientele. You will handle daily kitchen prep, maintain high quality food appearance, and ensure a safe, sanitary work environment in the pantry, fry stations, and other areas.

The role requires 3–6 months in a food/beverage setting, basic cooking skills, and English proficiency to communicate with management and guests. Competitive benefits and a team-focused atmosphere are offered.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent experience; culinary certificate or degree preferred.
• Three to six months in a food/beverage services environment.
• Strong knowledge of operating industrial sized ovens and cooking ranges.
• Knowledge of preparing different cuisines, relishes, soups and salads.
• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English.
• Ability to communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards, records, production and portion standards.
• Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to prepare more than needed.
• Assemble multiple orders accurately and efficiently.
• Rotate perishable items and ensure proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use, determine prep needs, and assist in buffet stocking.
• Help manage food costs, waste, and inventory.
