Job Description Summary: Responsible for providing a supportive role to kitchen staff in the preparation of meals and ingredients and support the company's meal program.
Responsibilities
- Cooking Experience: Experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook is essential with high volume and bulk cooking experience.
- Professional Kitchen Environment: Experience working in a busy, fast‑paced kitchen is highly preferred.
- Proficient Cooking Methods: Mastery of sautéing, grilling, baking, knife skills, and food preparation.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a team and communicate clearly.
- Organizational & Time‑Management: Strong organizational skills, ability to manage time during peak hours, remain calm and perform tasks accurately under pressure.
- Food Safety & Sanitation: Thorough understanding of food safety rules, proper storage, and sanitation regulations.
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with common kitchen equipment such as blenders, food processors, mixers, ovens, etc.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 2 years of verifiable work experience in a professional kitchen.
- Culinary degree preferred but not required.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 30‑50 pounds, and perform various kitchen tasks.
- Flexibility to bend, stretch, and adapt throughout a shift.
- Proficiency in baking, food preparation, grilling, kitchen equipment, time management, and food safety & sanitation.
Compensation
The anticipated hourly compensation range is 15.00 – 29.00 USD. Final pay will be determined based on qualifications, education, experience, and location and may change over time.
