Job summary

Maman, a French bakery, café and lifestyle brand, is seeking a Line Cook to prepare high-quality menu items in a fast-paced kitchen. You will follow recipes, ensure portion accuracy, and contribute to food safety and presentation.

You’ll work with a collaborative BOH and FOH team, handle daily prep, stock stations, and help maintain a clean workstation while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Early shifts, pastry familiarity preferred; experience in bakery/café setting is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous line cook, prep cook, or kitchen experience (café, bakery, or casual dining preferred).
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen safety protocols.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and operational procedures.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong sense of urgency is essential.
• Experience in a bakery or café setting.
• Food Handler’s Certification or ServSafe Certification.
• Familiarity with pastry preparation or basic baking techniques.
• Keeping up with the latest industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with maman’s recipe, portioning, and service standards.
• Assist with daily prep, including chopping, measuring, and assembling ingredients.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, mixers, and slicers safely.
• Monitor food levels and restock stations as needed during service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (ServSafe or equivalent) and complete line checks.
• Label, date, and store food items properly to minimize waste.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food production.
• Support FOH team when required to maintain smooth operations.
• Communicate professionally with team members and leadership.
• Perform additional tasks and ad hoc projects to support daily operations.
