Job summary

Billy's Sports Grill in Northport, Alabama, seeks a line cook for a privately owned, non-corporate, fun and fast-paced team atmosphere that offers flexible hours, opportunities for growth, great work/life balance, the ability to make great money, AND get paid weekly.

As a Line Cook you will prepare food using recipes created by the Head Chef, help the kitchen run smoothly, stock stations, prep ingredients, plate dishes, and work with servers to ensure orders are filled accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

• Assist with stocking and setting up kitchen stations.
• Prepare food according to recipes and chef guidance.
• Plate dishes and ensure presentation as directed by senior staff.
• Work with servers to fulfill orders accurately and on time.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Stock inventory and organize kitchen areas for efficiency.

Duties and responsibilities

A Line Cook prepares food using recipes and menu items created by the Head Chef and helps keep the kitchen running smoothly. Some of the key duties and responsibilities include:

• Assisting with stocking and setting up kitchen stations


• Ensuring the prep station and kitchen are set up and stocked


• Preparing food including: cleaning and cutting ingredients, cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and sauces


• Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance


• Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time


• Washing and cleaning the kitchen, prep area and cooking utensils, storing equipment at the end of shifts


• Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations


• Making sure food preparation areas meet health and safety standards


• Stock inventory and supplies


• Maintaining a sanitized and well-organized kitchen


• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment


• Working at a fast pace


• Arranging food with an appealing presentation
