Qualifications

  • Support and work with the Chef and Sous Chef.
  • Manage busy shifts and ensure stations are set up correctly.

Job description

The Role

The primary responsibilities of the Line Cook include:

  1. Supporting and working with the Chef
  2. Working the Hot Line
  3. Ensuring all prep is completed properly
  4. Setting up and breaking down cold and hot line stations correctly
  5. Assisting with prep when needed
  6. Maintaining a clean kitchen and workspace
  7. Ensuring a positive and safe working environment

We seek a candidate who can lead by example, is passionate about hospitality, and capable of managing all aspects of the kitchen. The new restaurant character will be cool, downtown, elegant, serving accessible yet refined French Cuisine to a sophisticated clientele.

Primary Responsibilities and Goals
  1. Collaborate with the Chef and Sous Chef
  2. Manage busy shifts, ensuring stations are properly set up and broken down
  3. Execute all dishes as per the Chef and Sous Chef's standards
  4. Present dishes well and consistently, meeting expectations
  5. Take responsibility for your station and dishes
Skills and Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  2. 3+ years of NYC restaurant experience or 5+ years of restaurant experience
  3. Positive attitude, ability to work under pressure, patience, politeness, and maintaining composure during high-volume shifts
  4. Ability to multitask and adapt quickly
  5. Current NYC Food Handler certificate or ability to obtain one within a month of hire
  6. Passion for food, restaurants, and dining
  7. Spanish language skills are a plus but not required
  8. Flexible schedule with weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday)
