SSP America operates several restaurants throughout the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport located in Milwaukee, WI.

At SSP America, our Line Cooks play a vital role in receiving food orders, preparing dishes, and setting up the kitchen for efficiency. Our team members enjoy working in the Back of House environment.

What to Expect as a Line Cook

• Follow recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present dishes
• Maintain proper setup of the kitchen/station daily
• Requisition and stock all necessary food, paper products, and condiments
• Handle, store, and rotate products properly
• Maintain, clean, and breakdown machinery and equipment
• Manage stock, cutting, and storage of perishables daily
• Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists
• Ensure product quality and take responsibility for the dishes served
• Perform cleaning tasks to adhere to health standards
• Other duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• One year of line cooking experience in a food service environment
• High school diploma preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to stand and work for long periods, including in confined spaces
