SSP America operates several restaurants throughout the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport located in Milwaukee, WI.

At SSP America, our Line Cooks play a vital role in receiving food orders, preparing delicious dishes for our guests, and properly setting up the kitchen to ensure every team member has the products and tools easily accessible during their shift. Our Line Cooks enjoy working in the Back of House.

Here are some expectations when you join our team as a Line Cook:

  • Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items.
  • Maintain proper and adequate setup of the kitchen/station daily.
  • Requisition and stock all required food, paper products, and condiments.
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
  • Responsible for setup, regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain stock, and ensure proper cutting and storage of all perishables daily to guarantee product quality.
  • Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required.
  • Ensure the quality of products served.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position has:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • One year of experience in line cooking in a food service environment.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
