Job Description: Line Cook at SSP America

SSP America operates several restaurants throughout the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport located in Milwaukee, WI.

At SSP America, our Line Cooks play a vital role in receiving food orders, preparing delicious dishes for our guests, and properly setting up the kitchen to ensure every Expert has the products and tools easily accessible during their shift. Our Line Cooks enjoy working in the Back of House.

Responsibilities include:

1. Following all recipes and practicing portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items.
2. Maintaining proper and adequate setup of the kitchen/station daily.
3. Requisitioning and stocking all required food, paper products, and condiments.
4. Handling, storing, and rotating all products properly.
5. Setting up, maintaining, cleaning, and breaking down machinery and equipment.
6. Maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all perishables daily to ensure product quality.
7. Completing opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required.
8. Taking responsibility for the quality of products served.
9. Performing general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards.
10. Performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 18 years old.
• One year of experience in line cooking in a food service environment.
• A high school diploma is preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• The ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• The ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.
