Job summary

Ottava Via in Corktown, Detroit seeks reliable line cooks to join our culinary family. Sundays are mandatory for all shifts, with hours 11am–10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11am–11pm Fridays and Saturdays.

You will set up, prep, cook, and maintain kitchen cleanliness, follow recipes, and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Prior line cook experience and a high school diploma are preferred; benefits include tips and discounted meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
• Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred.
• Experience with various cooking methods and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
• Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
• Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other methods to specified recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation by proper handling and storage of food.
• Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at end of shift.
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

Line Cook Job Responsibilities:

-Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.

-Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

-Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring -correct storage.

-Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.

-Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

Working hours are Currently Sunday - Thursday 11am - 10pm, Friday - Saturday 11am-11pm.

- Flexible Schedule

- Weekends a must

Line Cook Qualifications/Skills::

• Basic written and verbal communication skills
