Line Cook Job Description

Line Cooks are responsible for preparing, producing, and presenting menu items.

Essential Functions

• Prepare menu items according to recipes and requests
• Work various hours, including weekends
• Use tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Communicate clearly in written and spoken form
• Multitask under pressure
• Work in a busy, noisy environment
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; stand and walk for entire shifts

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Follow portioning and par levels
• Maintain food safety and quality standards
• Read thermometers accurately
• Report delays or issues
• Manage item counts and communicate shortages
• Account for all outgoing items
• Follow allergy procedures and special orders
