Job summary

The Mayton is seeking a Line Cook to join our culinary team in Cary. This role emphasizes delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining safety and cleanliness, following established recipes, and supporting daily prep tasks.

The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced kitchen. Responsibilities include menu prep, station upkeep, and collaboration with leadership to ensure timely service.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of culinary experience.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Menu Prep and Execution.
  • Prep alongside team according to prep lists provided by leadership, and prepare menu items from recipes for tickets throughout service.
  • Ensure knowledge of menu items and ingredients.
  • Stock and maintain designated stations as directed by leadership.
  • Collaborate with leadership and prepare order sheets as needed; adhere to health, safety, and service standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with ownership, coworkers, customers, and vendors.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma / GED preferred.

Degree or training in Culinary Arts, Hospitality or related field, or culinary certificate ideal.

PHYSICAL ABLITIES:
  • Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed
  • Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting
  • Maintains strong personal image and uniform standards
  • Must be able to work at a high pace
