Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Foreman/Foreperson to lead a Dayton, OH team in line clearance and tree-care tasks. The role emphasizes safety, planning, and hands-on leadership in pruning, removal, and line clearance work.

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors and be able to obtain Davey First Aid/CPR/defensive driving on hire.
• Line clearance certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with Air Brake endorsement preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Prune treetops and remove damaged branches.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and other structures.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Plan and execute job-site tasks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Mentor and train new employees.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as a Foreman/Foreperson, CDL preferred and/or with climbing experience, to join our team servicing the Dayton, OH region

Job Duties

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

What We Seek

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
