Jacobs is seeking a Lighting Design Intern in the Chicago area to support MEP lighting work on diverse building projects. You will work under senior lighting designers, using Revit and AutoCAD to create detailed lighting drawings and contribute to design outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior and basic lighting design knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD and lighting calculation software (AGI32).

Responsibilities

  • Create MEP drawings with a focus on lighting systems for various building design projects using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with senior lighting designers to deliver project outcomes.
  • Develop organizational and time-management skills in a hybrid work environment.

With direction from senior lighting designers, you’ll create MEP drawings with a focus on lighting systems for various building design projects using Revit and AutoCAD software.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Working on obtaining a bachelors’ or degree from an accredited program in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • US Citizenship is required
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs
  • Basic knowledge of lighting design
  • Basic knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD[RB6.1]
  • Working knowledge of a lighting calculation software such as AGI32
  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills
