Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program for Mechanical or Archtectural Engineering or another closely related field.
  • Completion of at least 2 years of collegiate coursework.
  • Interest in designing building mechanical systems, including HVAC and piping utilities, for buildings and facilities.
  • Familiarity with Revit or other 3D software.

Responsibilities

  • Design building mechanical systems and HVAC for projects, including new multi-building complexes and renovations.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects and designers.
  • Support project coordination, data collection and use of computer-aided engineering tools.
  • Receive mentorship from Professional Engineers and technical experts to perform analysis and design tasks.
  • Work with teams across different disciplines to deliver high-quality outcomes.

We are searching for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Federal Buildings team in St. Louis, MO. If you are a Mechanical Engineering major with an interest in mechanical building systems this may be the perfect opportunity for you!

As an intern with our team you can expect to design everything from new, multi-building complexes to intricate historic structure renovations! Although your focus will be on HVAC, and building mechanical systems you will be part of a highly dynamic and multi-

discplinary team of engineers, architects, and designers,

We’ll rely on you to support our teams on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion. You’ll work alongside professional engineers and designers, gaining exposure to project coordination, relevant computer-assisted engineering software, data collection and more. With mentorship and guidance from our Professional Engineers and technical experts, we will count on you to assist in the performance of analysis and design for our projects.

Our North American Internship Program will allow you to engage with interdisciplinary counterparts and senior leadership across all business units and geographies- giving you a chance to network, explore the company, and learn more about our dynamic industry. To be successful in this position you will need strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work closely with your Mechanical Lead, Project Managers, Professional Engineers, and Designers across different disciplines. You should possess an attitude of taking independent initiative, an eagerness to learn, enjoy creative problem-solving, and an ability to reliably work independently while also remaining dedicated to teamwork.

Here's what you'll need
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program for Mechanical or Archtectural Engineering or another closely related field
  • Completion of at least 2 years of collegiate coursework
  • Interest in designing building mechanical systems, including HVAC and piping utilities, for buildings and facilities.
  • Familiarity with Revit or other 3D software
Ideally, you’ll also have:
  • Previous internship experience with a design/consulting firm or government agency
  • Working knowledge of Revit or other 3D software

The base salary range for this position is $48,000.00 to $60,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
