Job summary

Jacobs is offering a Lighting Design Intern position in St. Louis or Chicago. You will work under senior lighting designers to develop MEP lighting drawings and gain hands-on experience in architectural lighting projects using Revit and AutoCAD.

This internship emphasizes mentorship, collaboration with project teams, and exposure to lighting calculation tools. Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, with a minimum

Qualifications

  • Working on obtaining a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher (preferred).
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision from senior lighting designers, create MEP drawings with a focus on lighting systems for various building design projects using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with teams to support project delivery and learn lighting design software and workflows.

With direction from senior lighting designers, you’ll create MEP drawings with a focus on lighting systems for various building design projects using Revit and AutoCAD software.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Working on obtaining a bachelors’ or degree from an accredited program in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • US Citizenship is required
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs
  • Basic knowledge of lighting design
  • Basic knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD[RB6.1]
  • Working knowledge of a lighting calculation software such as AGI32
  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills
