Job summary

P2S|CMTA is offering a Summer Internship for students majoring in Electrical Engineering in Long Beach, CA. You will join the Lighting Studio team and gain hands-on experience in office and field settings, contributing to client projects.

The 10-12 week program runs from June to August/September, with opportunities for training, mentorship, and professional development in a cutting-edge engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university and majoring in Electrical Engineering.
• FE/EIT is a plus; training in Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus; familiarity with CAD/BIM standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects.
• Contribute to design and prototyping activities.

Hourly: $24.00 Undergraduate / $26.00 Graduate

Internship Program

The internship program aims to offer a positive work/training experience aligned with career goals and education level. Interns will be part of the Lighting Studio team, gaining hands‑on experience in office and field settings and actively contributing to client projects. The program emphasizes real‑world industry exposure, including visits to project sites and internal training opportunities, fostering a unique learning experience and encouraging participation in company events.

Schedule

The Summer Internship lasts 10-12 weeks, starting in June and ending in August / September, depending on the candidate's availability.

Responsibilities

Project Support

• Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects.
• Conduct research and analysis to contribute to project development.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.

Design and Prototyping

• Contribute to the design process by creating and modifying engineering drawings.
• Participate in prototyping activities to test and validate design concepts.

Testing and Quality Assurance

• Assist in conducting tests to ensure the functionality and reliability of engineering solutions.
• Work closely with quality assurance teams to identify and address potential issues.

Documentation

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
• Generate reports and summaries to communicate project progress.

Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Participate in team meetings, providing valuable insights and feedback.

Learning and Development

• Engage in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.
• Seek opportunities for continuous learning and development within the engineering field.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Electrical Engineering.
• Training in Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus
• FE/EIT is a plus
• Trained to utilize CAD/BIM standards
• Ability to work effectively in a highly energetic and multiple-engagement environment, dedication to teamwork, a strong work initiative, and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas; detail-oriented
