Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop.

Duties include inspecting, servicing, repairing, testing and replacing components, plus electrical systems such as wiring harnesses and charging systems. Training is provided, with Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training as part of service; pathways to civilian careers in repair and maintenance exist.

Qualifications

• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam.
• Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com).
• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles, trailers, and material handling equipment.
• Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness and charging systems.
• Inspect, service, repair, test, adjust and replace vehicle components.
