Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to keep wheeled equipment road-ready. You will supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop, inspecting, servicing, repairing, testing, and replacing components and electrical systems.

Job training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with paid instruction, tuition assistance, and retirement benefits for part-time service.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and fixing mechanical problems.
• Basic understanding of automotive engines and systems.
• Willing to learn and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wheeled vehicles and related trailers and equipment.
• Service electrical systems, including wiring and charging systems.
