Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to ensure wheeled equipment is ready for the road. You will supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations in the field and in the shop, inspecting, servicing, repairing, testing, and replacing systems as needed.

Duties include servicing electrical systems, wiring harnesses and charging systems. Training is available through Army programs, with drill-weekend pay and benefits such as tuition assistance and health care.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service wheeled vehicles and associated trailers and equipment.
• Maintain, repair, test, adjust and replace components; perform recovery operations; service electrical systems including wiring harness and charging systems.
