Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance on wheeled vehicles in the field and shop. You will inspect, service, maintain, repair and test vehicle systems, including electrical wiring harnesses and charging systems.

You will gain hands-on experience and training with opportunities to pursue civilian careers in maintenance and repair roles, while earning a paycheck and benefits.

Qualifications

• Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
• Interest in automotive engines and how they work.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and shop.
• Inspect, service, maintain, repair, test, and replace vehicle systems and components.
• Service electrical systems including wiring harness and charging systems.
