Job summary

Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. is seeking a Light Vehicle Mechanic for a project location 65 miles outside of Elko, Nevada. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing light vehicles and underground personnel carriers, with emphasis on safety and efficient maintenance.

You will operate on a 14 days on/14 days off camp rotation, provide own basic tools, and have travel assistance up to $500 per rotation. A valid driver’s license and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Automotive Mechanic certification is required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an automotive mechanic preferred.
• Underground experience is considered an asset.
• Current MSHA certification is required before start.
• Ability to read and understand manuals, schematics, diagrams and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mining pick-up trucks, underground personnel carriers, and other support equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections per schedule or operational needs.
• Document work performed, problems diagnosed, and checks in shift reports.
• Maintain a professional relationship with employees, contractors, clients, and others on site.
• Adhere to Mine site safety rules and PPE requirements.
