Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited is seeking a Light Vehicle Mine Mechanic for the Pogo operation in Alaska. You will maintain underground and surface light vehicles and related equipment, ensuring reliability and safety in a remote camp environment.

The role requires a strong fault-finding capability, 2-5 years of heavy mining mechanical experience, and the ability to work within MSHA standards. Rotational on-site schedule and camp facilities are provided.

Qualifications

• Current Driver's License is required.
• 2-5 years mechanical experience in heavy mining applications.
• Basic literacy; read and write English.
• Able to pass background check and post-offer physical.
• Able to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications.
• Able to prioritise work effectively.
• Able to solve problems and manage conflicting priorities.
• Flexible to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
• Awareness of Mine Safety and Health Act & Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake diagnostic, breakdowns, follow-up work and PMs to a high standard.
• Provide technical advice and support to Maintenance Team members.
• Ensure workmanship meets standards and tolerances and test equipment prior to handover.
• Identify correct parts and equipment for all planned and unplanned jobs.
• Attend daily pre-start meetings to ensure effective communication.
• Provide handover for incoming crews regarding maintenance plans and issues.
• Organise permits as required (eg isolations, confined space, hot work).
