Job summary

Northern Star Pogo Mine is seeking a Light Vehicle Mechanic to maintain underground and surface light vehicles and related equipment at our Alaska operation. You will perform diagnostics, PMs and breakdown repairs, ensuring high reliability and safety while following company policies.

Responsibilities include providing technical support to the maintenance team, verifying workmanship, and staying aligned with safety permits and paperwork.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years mechanical experience in heavy mining applications.
• Current Driver’s License.
• Basic literacy, reading and writing in English.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair light vehicles and associated equipment to a high standard.
• Provide technical support to maintenance team members.
• Ensure workmanship meets standards and tolerances, test before handover.
• Identify parts and equipment for planned and unplanned jobs.
• Attend pre-start meetings and document handovers clearly.
• Maintain safety, records and permit compliance (ISOs, JHAs, SWPs).
• Manage daily priorities and communicate with Supervisors and stakeholders.
