Job summary

Mission Ridge Ski Resort seeks a Director of Lift Services to lead the Lift Maintenance and Lift Operations departments. You will ensure maintenance, inspections, regulatory compliance, and safe operation of all lifts, reporting to the Director of Mountain Operations.

The ideal candidate has deep lift maintenance knowledge, lift operations understanding, and a leadership style that develops managers. Winter work includes weekends and on-call shifts; summer focuses on major projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical, mechanical, or electrical training or an associate degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of ski lift maintenance and/or lift operations experience; supervisory/manager experience preferred.
• Experience with lift inspections, permitting, and ANSI B77.1 compliance strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise lift managers; set clear expectations and support hiring, scheduling, and staff development.
• Oversee maintenance schedules, inspections, load tests, and staff training to meet opening dates; ensure compliance.
• Direct ANSI B77.1 and state compliance efforts, coordinate annual inspections, keep permits current.
• Oversee maintenance schedules, including inspections and records; verify work orders are completed.
• Set and uphold lift operating standards for loading, riding, and unloading; maintain start-up inspections and logs.
• Maintain maintenance, operations, training, and inspection records for inspectors and insurers.
• Lead responses to malfunctions, evacuations, and incidents; coordinate with Ski Patrol.
• Build annual operating and capital budgets with managers; manage parts inventory.
• Maintain a long-term lift maintenance and replacement plan; lead major projects.
• Develop training programs and a lift knowledge base with managers.
• Monitor conditions and coordinate closures with the Director of Mountain Operations.
• Oversee night lighting and lift electrical systems; promote safety culture.
• Communicate status to Director and coordinate daily operations.
