Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a Lifeguard for the Buehler YMCA in Palatine, IL. This part-time, mid-day position offers flexible hours (12–5pm) and on-site work with free training and certification.

You’ll keep swimmers safe, respond to emergencies, and deliver friendly customer service to members and guests. Applicants must be at least 15 and willing to complete CPR, First Aid, and AED training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Willingness to complete lifeguard and CPR training (provided by us).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lifeguarding experience or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Must be at least 15 years old
• Physical ability to perform water rescues
• Willingness to complete lifeguard and CPR training (provided by us)

Child Abuse Prevention

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required

Qualifications

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:

• Previous lifeguarding experience preferred.
• Experience in a customer service role or similar environment.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Strong swimming skills and ability to perform water rescues.
• Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and AED usage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
• Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
