Job summary

Elmhurst YMCA in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a part-time lifeguard to keep swimmers safe, respond to emergencies, and provide friendly customer service to members and guests.

Great training provided, CPR and lifeguard certification offered, must be at least 15, with strong swimming skills and the ability to stay calm in emergencies; weekend and weekday shifts available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Willingness to complete lifeguard and CPR training.
• Previous lifeguarding experience is preferred.
• Strong swimming skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Keep swimmers safe and monitor pool area.
• Respond to emergencies and provide safe, supportive assistance.
• Deliver excellent customer service to members and guests.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 15 years old
• Physical ability to perform water rescues
• Willingness to complete lifeguard and CPR training (provided by us)

Child Abuse Prevention

• Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
• Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
• Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
• Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
