Job summary

YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is seeking dedicated aquatics staff to ensure a safe and welcoming pool environment. Whether serving as a lifeguard, swim instructor, or both, you will help swimmers build confidence and water skills. Training is provided if you do not have lifeguard experience.

This position starts at $11.50 per hour, with duties including supervising swimmers, enforcing rules, and assisting in pool maintenance. Join a team committed to community health and youth development.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid (training provided by the Y).
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• YMCA Lifeguard or certification by another nationally recognized organization.
• Must possess a cooperative spirit to promote and demonstrate caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
• Must relate well with pool patrons in a positive manner.
• Must be professional, alert, courteous and tactful.
• Must be serious about job responsibilities and able to think clearly in emergencies.
• Must have strong water skills and maintain top physical fitness.

Responsibilities

• Ensure welfare and safety of all participants in and around the pool.
• Perform rescue and lifesaving duties as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain pool equipment and area.
• Attend required training and certifications.
• Record incidents and maintain proper reports.
