Job summary

City of Farmington Hills is seeking a part-time lifeguard to join our recreation staff. You will identify and prevent potential accidents, enforce facility rules, respond quickly in line with emergency procedures, and administer first aid and CPR as required.

The role requires good communication with patrons and staff, attendance at monthly trainings, and performing tasks such as assisting with tours, cleaning, and other facility duties.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Some swimming background is required including WSI, swim team, swim club, avid swimmer, coaching, or other formal training.
• Good communication and organizational skills are required.
• The ideal applicant is self-motivated and enjoys working with children.

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
Prior lifeguarding experience is helpful, but not required

EDUCATION:
Must be at least 15 years of age.

SPECIAL SKILLS & TRAINING:
Some swimming background is required including but not limited to any of the following: WSI, swim team, swim club, avid swimmer, coaching, swim lessons, or other formal training. START DATE & WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is part-time with a 5-30 hours per week maximum. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and evenings.
