Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Dayton is seeking a part-time Lifeguard in Springfield, OH to maintain safe swimming conditions, respond to emergencies, and assist with swim instruction when needed. Hourly pay ranges from $13.00 to $15.60, with free certification/training provided by the YMCA.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Ability to participate in and achieve YMCA/Red Cross certifications.
• CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification required or able to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant observation of the pool area.
• Enforce pool rules and communicate safety procedures.
• Check for hazardous conditions and proper safety equipment.
• Complete incident and accident reports as required.
• Record pool chemical readings and inventory supplies.
• Add pool chemicals when necessary and ensure proper handling.
• Maintain a clean environment by following cleaning procedures.
• Set up and store equipment; assist with event setup.
• Conduct rescue and fitness drills regularly; promote aquatics programs.
• Communicate suggestions to improve the aquatics facility.
