HealthFitness is seeking a dependable Lifeguard for a part-time role at a premier client site in the Seagate area of South Brooklyn, NY. You will monitor patron safety, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies while providing friendly service to members and guests.

The role offers early morning and/or afternoon/evening shifts, requires lifeguard with CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and the ability to perform basic lifeguard skill tests. Competitive hourly wage applies.

In this role, you'll help maintain a safe, welcoming aquatic environment while providing excellent service to members and guests. This position is ideal for an independent professional who is confident making decisions and responding effectively in a fast-paced setting. **Enjoy a flexible schedule** with availability for **early morning shifts (7:00 AM-12:00 PM)** and/or **afternoon/evening shifts (3:00 PM-8:00 PM).**Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.Key Accountabilities* Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.* Enforce and explain rules as necessary.* Respond appropriately to any emergency.* Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.* Attend all required staff meetings and training.* Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.* Maintain a professional attitude.* Other duties as needed/assigned.Minimum Requirements* Must be at least 16 years old.* American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.* Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.* Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.* Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools. All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:* 500 yard swim.* Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.* Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.* Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.The compensation range for this role is $16/hr - $18hr. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
