Job summary

HealthFitness is seeking a Lifeguard to join the aquatics team at our premier client site in West Hartford, CT. You will help create a safe and welcoming aquatic environment while supporting the health and well-being of our client community.

Responsibilities include monitoring patrons, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, performing routine water testing, and assisting with daily center operations. Must be 16+ and hold ARC Lifeguarding with CPR/AED/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
• Strong customer service and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Perform chemical testing and document results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Assist with maintaining the Aquatics Facility for a safe environment.

About The Role

HealthFitness has is looking for a skilled Lifeguard to join the aquatics team at our premier client site in West Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, you'll help create a safe and welcoming aquatic environment while supporting the health and well-being of our client community.

Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.

Schedule

• Part-time, 10 hours per week
• Weekday evenings: 3:00pm - 8:00pm
• And/or weekend hours: 7:45am - 12:00pm

Key Accountabilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
• Maintain a professional attitude.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.

Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. The compensation range for this role is $15 - $16.94/hour. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
