CCBC is seeking a part-time lifeguard to monitor pool activity, respond to emergencies, and uphold safety across the Essex, Catonsville, and Dundalk campuses. The role emphasizes professional conduct and strong customer service in a public facility.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, six months of lifeguard experience, and being at least 18 years old. Valid ARC/BSA/YMCA lifeguard certification is mandatory. CCBC offers part-time benefits and a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility and act to secure safety during emergencies.
  • Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies and provide emergency care until EMS arrives.
  • Present professional appearance and attitude at all times.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Inspect the pool and report unsafe conditions or equipment to supervisor.
  • Oversee handling of ID cards and health, incident and waiver forms.
  • Prepare and maintain activity reports such as health surveys and sign-in sheets.
  • Enforce pool policies, rules and regulations.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.

Class Description

The purpose of this class is to maintain constant surveillance ofthe pools, render appropriate emergency services, and inspect thepool and report unsafe conditions.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months (6) of experience as a lifeguard
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid certification from one of the following:
  • The American Red Cross
  • The Boy Scouts of America
  • The Young Men's Christian Association
POSITIONS ARE LOCATED ON THE ESSEX, CATONSVILLE, AND DUNDALKCAMPUSES
Class Specific Essential Duties
  1. 1. Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; actsimmediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in theevent of an emergency.
  2. 2. Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies. Provideemergency care and treatment as required until the arrival ofemergency medical services arrives.
  3. 3. Present professional appearance and attitude at all ties

  5. 5. Inspect the pool and report any unsafe conditions or equipmentto supervisor.
  6. 6. Oversees the handling of identification cards as well as health,incident and waiver forms.
