Job summary

CCBC is seeking a part-time pool operations supervisor to coordinate the total swimming pool operation for recreation and community use programs on the Essex, Catonsville, and Dundalk campuses.

The role requires an AA degree (Bachelor’s preferred), five years aquatics experience, and multiple certifications including pool operator, lifeguard/first aid, CPR and AED. Availability nights and weekends is required.

Qualifications

  • Associates of Arts degree required, Bachelors preferred.
  • Five years aquatics experience.
  • Pool operator certification.
  • Lifeguarding/First Aid certification.
  • CPR and AED certification.
  • Blood Borne Pathogen training provided by CCBC.
  • Must be available nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain swimming pool.
  • Assist users in the facility.
  • Assist faculty with class equipment needs.
  • Maintain all records pertinent to daily operations.
  • Support part time associates.
  • Support lifeguards as necessary.
  • Implement risk management procedures for the aquatic facility.
  • Handle emergency situations in the pool area as necessary.
  • Serve as weekend pool operator and lifeguard.
  • Monitor and maintain pool water quality by testing every two hours and adjusting chemicals.

Class Description

Coordinating the total swimming pool operation for the recreationaland community use programs. Responsible for implementation of allnational, state and county regulations with the operation of the swimming pool facility, including sanitation, safety, security, andemergency procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Associates of Arts degree required, Bachelors preferred. Five yearsaquatics experience; pool operator certification, Lifeguarding/First Aid certification, CPR and AED certificationrequired. Blood Borne Pathogen training provided by CCBC. Must beavailable nights and weekends.

POSITIONS ARE LOCATED ON THE ESSEX, CATONSVILLE, AND DUNDALKCAMPUSES
Class Specific Essential Duties
  1. Manage and maintain swimming pool.
  2. Assist users in the facility.
  3. Assist faculty with class equipment needs.
  4. Maintain all records pertinent to daily operations.
  5. Support part time associates.
  6. Support lifeguards as necessary.
  7. Implement risk management procedures for the aquaticfacility.

  9. Serve as weekend pool operator and lifeguard.
  10. Monitor and maintain pool water quality by testing every twohours as required, recording, analyzing, diagnosing, and adjustingchemicals as necessary.
  11. Ensure that all safety equipment is operational to meet countyand state regulations in the pool area (AED, Oxygen, CPR masks,First Aid Kits, Spine Boards, Phones, etc.)
