Job summary

North Shore YMCA is hiring lifeguards for Marblehead pools with flexible, part-time shifts across early mornings, days, evenings and weekends. The role offers free lifeguard certification for qualified applicants and paid training.

You will monitor swimmers, maintain a safe environment, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for members of all ages while collaborating with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years
• Current lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications
• Willingness to obtain certifications before starting (training may be available)
• Calm, confident presence with strong attention to safety and detail
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Monitor pools and respond quickly to swimmer needs to maintain safety
• Create a welcoming, positive experience for members and program participants
• Assist with swim lessons using YMCA curriculum (for Swim Instructors) and participate in ongoing training and team development
