Job summary

The YMCA of the North Shore is hiring for lifeguards and swim instructors to support our Aquatics Team across the North Shore this fall. If you love helping others stay safe and have a passion for swimming, this is a flexible, part-time role with meaningful community impact.

We offer free membership, discounts on programs, paid training, and opportunities for career growth. Starting pay is $16/hour with higher rates for certifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years.
• Current lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certificates.
• Or willingness to obtain certifications before starting.
• Calm, confident with safety and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork; availability for weekday and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimmers to keep pools safe.
• Create a welcoming, positive experience for members.
• Teach swim lessons using YMCA curriculum (for Swim Instructors).
• Participate in paid training and team development.

Qualifications
