Job summary

The YMCA of the North Shore is hiring lifeguards and swim instructors to staff our pools across the North Shore this fall. Flexible part-time shifts and paid training help you stay active, learn, and serve the community. Not certified yet?

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years.
• Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration.
• Willingness to obtain certifications before starting.
• Calm, safety-focused presence with good teamwork and communication.
• Availability for both weekday and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor swimmers and respond to emergencies to keep pools safe.
• Create a welcoming, positive experience for members and program participants.
• Teach swim lessons using the YMCA of the USA curriculum (for Swim Instructors).
• Participate in paid training, ongoing education, and team development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A minimum age of 16 years

• A calm, confident presence with strong attention to safety and detail
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Seeking availability for both weekday and weekend shifts.
