Job summary

The YMCA of the North Shore is hiring for fall across our pools on the North Shore. Join the Aquatics Team and help keep swimmers safe and create a welcoming environment for members of all ages.

We offer free lifeguard certification for qualified applicants, flexible shifts (Early Morning, Daytime, Evening, Weekend), and competitive pay starting at $16/hour with higher rates for additional certifications. Paid training and growth opportunities are available within Aquatics and the broader YMCA

Qualifications

• Lifeguarding certification is required or willingness to obtain it before starting.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required or in-progress.
• Oxygen Administration certification is required or training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimmers and respond to emergencies to keep pools safe.
• Create a welcoming, positive experience for members and participants.
• Teach swim lessons using YMCA curricula (for Swim Instructors).
• Participate in paid training and ongoing team development.

What You'll Do

• Help keep our pools safe by actively monitoring swimmers and responding when needed.

• Teach engaging swim lessons using the YMCA of the USA swim curriculum (for Swim Instructors).
• Participate in paid training, ongoing education, and team development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A minimum age of 16 years
• Current certifications in:
  • Lifeguarding
  • CPR/AED
  • First Aid
  • Oxygen Administration
• OR a willingness to obtain certifications before starting (training opportunities may be available for the right candidate!)
• A calm, confident presence with strong attention to safety and detail
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Seeking availability for both weekday and weekend shifts.
