Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Lifeguard I & II to join the Aquatics team at Charles River YMCA. This is a part-time, non-exempt hourly role with shifts that vary including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include pool surveillance, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, performing CPR/First Aid, and assisting with basic pool maintenance. Active Lifeguard certifications are required; YMCA Lifeguarding is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold active Lifeguard Certifications (e.g., YMCA, Red Cross).
• Lifeguard II age 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Guard the pool and ensure patron safety.
• Enforce pool rules and respond to emergencies.
• Perform CPR, First Aid, and use Emergency Oxygen as needed.
• Complete incident reports promptly.
• Maintain a clean and safe pool environment.
