Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Lifeguard II to guard the pool, enforce rules, and execute branch emergency protocols. The role requires active lifeguard certifications and a minimum age of 18, with a friendly, safety-first approach and strong member interaction skills.

Roles include rescues, CPR/First Aid, and safety reporting, with shifts that may include mornings, evenings, and weekends. Competitive hourly pay and YMCA benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Must have active Lifeguard Certifications (YMCA, Red Cross)
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Guard the pool and ensure patron safety.
• Enforce pool rules and follow branch emergency protocols.
• Provide CPR, First Aid and oxygen as needed.
• Complete incident reports promptly and accurately.
• Maintain a clean and safe pool environment at all times.
• Assist with pool testing and cleaning when not on stand.
• Attend monthly and yearly in-service trainings.
• Arrive 10 minutes before shift start.
• Engage with members and communicate with supervisors.
