Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston seeks a Lifeguard II at the Menino YMCA to guard the pool, enforce rules, and follow branch emergency protocols. The role requires active lifeguard certifications, strong vigilance, and prompt response to incidents.

The position is part-time, non-exempt, with shifts that may include early mornings, nights, and weekends. Training and ongoing safety drills are integral to the role, ensuring member safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• Must have active Lifeguard Certifications (e.g. YMCA, Red Cross).
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, O2 training is required.

Responsibilities

• Guard the pool to ensure patron safety and enforce rules.
• Perform assists or rescues as needed and provide CPR/First Aid as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe pool environment and complete incident reports promptly.
• Engage in branch safety drills and communicate with supervisors.
