Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a vigilant Lifeguard to protect swimmers, enforce pool rules, and implement branch emergency procedures. The role requires active lifeguard certification and strong safety awareness in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include emergency response, incident reporting, and maintaining a clean pool area. You will assist with testing the pool, engage with members, and participate in regular safety drills and trainings.

Qualifications

• Must have active Lifeguard Certifications (e.g., YMCA, Red Cross).
• Provide CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen as needed.
• Scan the pool continuously to prevent emergencies and recognize incidents.

Responsibilities

• Guard the pool and enforce rules to ensure patron safety.
• Respond to emergencies and activate branch EAP when needed.
• Assist with cleaning and testing of the pool when not on duty.
• Complete incident reports promptly and maintain communication with supervisors.
• Attend required monthly and yearly in-service trainings.
