Job summary

HealthFitness in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a part-time Lifeguard for Harvard Recreation. Earn $20/hour while supporting a safe, welcoming pool environment for swimmers of all ages.

Flexible schedule up to 29.5 hours weekly, with morning, evening, or weekend shifts encouraged. Responsibilities include monitoring the pool, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, performing routine pool chemistry tests, and providing friendly customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
• Meet HealthFitness fitness and skill standards.
• Be dependable, attentive and a team player.
• Positive attitude with strong people skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep swimmers safe by actively monitoring the pool and surrounding areas.
• Explain and enforce pool rules to maintain a welcoming environment.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies.
• Perform routine pool chemical testing for safe water conditions.
• Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
• Deliver friendly, professional customer service to patrons of all ages.
