Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Lifeguard to help maintain a safe and welcoming aquatic environment. You will monitor swimmers, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies with trained lifesaving skills.

Ideal candidates hold current lifeguard certification (YMCA/Red Cross) and can swim 300 yards with the strength to lift 50 pounds. Flexible scheduling and a dynamic team await at the YMCA aquatics department.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification required (CPR/AED and First Aid) or willing to obtain through YMCA training.
• Ability to swim 300 yards continuously.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Comfort working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of swimmers to ensure safety.
• Enforce pool rules and provide welcoming service.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and provide lifesaving care when needed.
• Monitor pool chemical levels and maintain water quality.
• Keep pool deck and surrounding areas clean and hazard-free.
• Assist members with questions and provide exceptional service.
• Open and close the facility and complete daily tasks.
