YMCA is seeking a part-time lifeguard to ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for all members. You will uphold water safety, respond to emergencies, and engage with guests to foster positive, lasting relationships.

Requirements include daytime availability, current lifeguard certification, and a friendly, professional demeanor. This role offers flexible hours and a free YMCA membership as part of benefits.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required.
• Daytime availability is a must.
• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Ability to demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with members, staff and supervisors.
• Outgoing, friendly approach that will lead and motivate members.
• Ability to maintain physical and mental readiness at all times.
• One weekend shift per month required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment and monitor activities to prevent accidents.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and perform water rescues as needed.
• Communicate with members and staff to ensure a positive, safe experience.
