Job summary

The Greater Beverly YMCA in Beverly, MA is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to help keep our pools safe and welcoming for members. Earn $16–$19 per hour with varied shifts including early mornings, days, evenings, and weekends.

We offer paid training, certification opportunities, and a free YMCA membership. Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old and hold Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications (or are willing to obtain them).

Qualifications

• A minimum age of 16 years.
• Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration.
• OR willingness to obtain certifications before starting (training opportunities may be available).
• A calm, confident presence with strong attention to safety and detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Seeking availability for both weekday and weekend shifts at both locations.

Responsibilities

• Help keep our pools safe by actively monitoring swimmers and responding when needed.
• Create a welcoming, positive experience for members and program participants.
• Teach engaging swim lessons using the YMCA of the USA swim curriculum (for Swim Instructors).
• Participate in paid training, ongoing education, and team development opportunities.
