Job summary

Soul Center YMCA in Beverly, MA is seeking an experienced lifeguard for a part-time role with opening shifts. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.00 to $19.00 and requires a YUSA lifeguard certification, HS diploma, and 18+ age.

You will supervise aquatics, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies on a busy pool deck. Ideal candidates enjoy working with a diverse group of swimmers, including children and adults, and are prepared to promote a healthy, active lifestyle

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• YUSA lifeguard certified required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aquatics activities and ensure swimmer safety.
• Explain and enforce safety regulations and rules.
• Monitor for safety hazards and assist in activities.

Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: Soul Center YMCA - Beverly, MA 01915, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $17.00 - $19.00 Hourly, Job Shift: Opening, Are you an avid swimmer and interested in helping others? Are you looking for part-time work that will make a difference? This may be the opportunity for you!

As a lifeguard at the Soul Center YMCA, you will help ensure the safety and well being of all swimmers, and promote a healthy and active lifestyle. On a regular day, you will oversee all aquatics activities, explain and enforce safety regulations and rules, monitor for any safety hazards, and assist in activities. You must be rescue ready at all times and implement emergency procedures as needed. You will assess the swimming capabilities of everyone in the aquatics area and ensure individuals are not allowed in areas that place them at undue risk.

To thrive in this position you must have the physical ability to respond in an emergency situation and be able to stay focused and present throughout the duration of your shift. You must enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people including children and adults. You are not afraid to take on responsibilities and are able to address concerns with visitors on the pool deck in a professional and courteous manner.
